We are Giuseppe Renzuto and Iris de Brouwer, residents of Naples and, as our friends like to say: a “Dutch Neapolitan” and a “Neapolitan Dutchie.” Our shared passion is revealing the soul of this vibrant city to curious travelers looking for an authentic Italian experience.
With our extensive background in the Naples tourism industry, we successfully introduced the groundbreaking Scampia Tour to the Dutch and Flemish markets. By bridging cultures, we’ve shown thousands of visitors a side of the city that most tourists never see.

Ciro Corona is a pivotal figure in the fight for legality in Scampia. He is dedicated daily to managing assets confiscated from organized crime and fostering the social reintegration of former inmates.
The (R)esistenza Cooperative is a powerhouse of transformation in the neighborhood. Their mission focuses on promoting legality through education and hands-on examples:

From the Scampia Tour to the Scampia Bike Tour
Our partnership began in 2019, though Ciro’s vital work started long before. Together, we launched the Scampia socio-cultural tour, which has already welcomed thousands of visitors and radically shifted the perception of the district.
What began as a successful walking initiative has now evolved into the Scampia Bike Tour. By introducing bicycles, we offer an eco-friendly and dynamic way to explore the territory, connecting visitors even more deeply with the local community and its stories of resilience.

In the morning, Iris had booked a wonderful e-bike tour for us. 35 km through the Gulf of Naples, Pozzuoli, and Campi Flegrie. We had a private tour with a guide! The Italian-American guide provided extensive explanations, so it was easy to understand. We were picked up from our accommodation and taken back to our destination. 👌
In the morning, I took a Maradona tour (my football hero) combined with a food tour with Iris. Iris took us to the most beautiful and delicious places (the espresso calda freddo is divine). Plus, Iris really gives you a feel for the city; you walk through authentic Naples and, through her stories, you fully understand the history of Naples.
Going to Naples? Trust Iris from Local in Naples! In May 2023, we immersed ourselves in the Neapolitan atmosphere for a long weekend. A beautiful and authentic city. Iris organized a fantastic program for our family of three young adults. From a stroll through the historic center with a guided tour of Pompeii, to a bike tour along the bay with Peppe, and a street food tour in Vomero. Everything was perfect.
